Buy Oversized Sunglasses to Protect Your Eyes and More

Protect Your Eyes while Having Fun in the Sun
Sunglasses are protective eye gears that shield your eyes from the hazards of ultraviolet rays (UV) of the sun. Excessive exposure to UV rays, especially in the younger years of life, may lead to cataracts and retinal disease, and these consequences only become apparent as the person grows older. The cells of the eye lens never get replaced and the proteins of the lens are never replenished. Likewise, damage to the macula, which is a small, sensitive area of the retina responsible for central vision, is irreversible. With continuous damage to the eye by the harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun, visual acuity degenerates and the condition may lead to total blindness.
Children and Retinal Damage
The risk for retinal damage from the sun's rays is greatest in children less than 10 years old so it is appropriate for them to wear sunglasses, especially between 10am and 2pm when UV exposure is most hazardous. People with darker eye color have partial protection from harmful UV rays because of their darker pigments but would still need to wear protective eye gears. Those with light-colored eyes need eye protection all the more. Healthcare professionals recommend wearing sunglasses every time you are outdoors to protect yourself from ultimately serious eye problems.
Choosing Sunglasses
For sunglasses to effectively protect your eyes it should block 99 to 100% UVA and UVB radiation, have large lenses that fit close to the eyes and can block visible blue light. There are different kinds of sunglasses, but oversized frames with broad temple arms for maximum coverage in front and protection from stray lights on the sides provides greatest benefits.
You may want to consider anti glare or polarized lens if you are sporty, loves diving or fishing because it effectively eliminates glare from the reflection of water or glass. Choose sunglasses that offer effective protection to your eyes but get the pair with frames that flatter your face. Select frames opposite your face shape, rectangular for a round face and round frames for angular face. Oval frames look good on most face shapes. It should preferably be made of shatterproof materials, lightweight and comfortable to wear. Select a style that will easily complement your current fashion ensemble and not overpower them.

Because you wear them on your face, sunglasses function not only for eye protection but also as fashion accessory. It serves as a chic headband when placed on top of your head. Few decades ago, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, two of the biggest fashion icons who exemplify elegance and sophistication set the trend for oversized sunglasses. People are just drawn to imitate them to attain that movie-star look. Until now, famous supermodels and prominent Hollywood celebrities usually set fashion trends for these highly functional spectacles as they take advantage of the large lens to cover their puffy or bare eyes and presumably to hide from paparazzi.
